Sharon Stone set for Basic Instinct 3?
A while ago I read an article where a bunch of ‘prominent’ female actors (actresses) had a good old whine about there not being enough good roles for older women to play in film these days.
It’s a catch 22 this ‘not enough roles’ malarkey, because real life informs film and vice versa, and a lot of females don’t care to break free from their tradition stereotypical roles in society. Sure, almost all want equal rights, but you can’t tell me that nagging Shazza in the hairdresser salon (who ‘deadset refuses to mow the lawn’ or ‘touch icky garbage bags’) is ready to break down the way femininity is associated with being the ‘fairer’ sex.
It’s funny, because in the aforementioned article, almost all the actresses who were whinging were pretty shit to begin with, so the lack of good roles being offered to them has nothing to do with any sort of socio-cultural conspiracy at all. Come on… Julianna Margoyles? Samantha Mathis? AHAHAHAHAHAHAH. Not a single GOOD actress was ‘taking a stand’ in this article. If Sharon Stone has a problem with it she should take her millions earned from previous films and produce something for herself to star in. Tom Cruise doesn’t sit around waiting for ‘good’ roles, he seeks them out himself these days and puts the money behind it as a producer so he can then have the role to play. Oh wait, Sharon Stone can’t do that can she? Why? Because she spent all her cash like a dumb bitch.

Whoopi Goldberg was also mentioned in this article too. Whoopi Goldberg shouldn’t be allowed to play a woman, she’s like the opposite of Viagra. Has anyone seen ‘The Associate’? Whoopi Goldberg and Dianne Weist... women in a man's world. Whoopi can't get a job as a broker or whatever those cunts on Wall Street call themselves, so she invents a mythical old white guy that everyone loves and has to prop up the whole charade just so she - a black woman - can make it in a white man's world! Eventually it gets too much and, cue token gay male, Whoopi is made up to look like - shock, horror - an old white guy! I haven't seen anything so unconvincing and shit. There's even the standard scene where a member of the same sex tries to get on to the one in drag... and the worse thing is, I've seen this movie twice. FUCKING HELL. SOMEONE SHOOT WHOOPI GOLDBERG IN HER EYEBROW-FREE HEAD. There's even a lame love-interest shitefest between two of the supporting characters. BLEURHGHHHH!
