Dear Subway
I am confused by your ‘4 Easy Steps’ sign that is displayed outside your stores. In this sign it proclaims that there are only 4 easy steps to choosing the sub I want. But the thing is, it’s not 4 steps at all – it’s clearly 7!
Firstly, it says choose bread and choose size – these are two separate steps, not one. Then it goes on to say choose meat and choose cheese – again, two steps, not one. And then it says choose sauce and choose toppings – also two separate steps and not one! Adding all these together along with the ‘choose to toast or have fresh’ option makes 7 seven steps all up.
So it is not as easy as you would like us to think. It’s quite confusing really. I always thought I had been taught how to count properly – your sign momentarily challenged this belief as I suddenly doubted my ability to count to 4. Imagine how someone with lesser counting ability would react to this sign – you might shatter their confidence in themselves! Why would you lie on your sign? Surely this is false advertising. You say it’s 4 easy steps when it’s clearly not… there is nothing easy about it!
